    I am just curious why people like you prefer to call social security tax something other than an income tax. It is a tax based on income, right? The money flows to the general budget? People like you call social security a bankrupt ponzi scheme, right? Which must mean it is never going to be repaid? So if it is a tax based on income that flows through to the general budget, why can't you call it an income tax? Is it because your head hurts when you actually think about it? Or is it just more fun to pretend a large majority of the population doesn't pay income tax? And, P.S., are you aware of other taxes beyond income taxes?

    You are, technically speaking, correct. However, in common usage, FICA taxes are not generally lumped in among “income tax”.

    I happen to think FICA is the most evil tax of all. Increasingly, it is used to rob the poor to give to the rich. In other words, it is a perfect example of another idiotic scheme dreamed up and signed into law by Dims.
