Man linked to Giffords shooting called 'very disturbed'

As this story was unfolding, nuts on the Left were quick to label the shooter as a Tea Party protestor -- thereby tarring all Tea Party protesters with that brush. Nuts on the Right were quick to label the shooter as a Leftie Lunatic -- thereby tarring all Leftie Lunatics with that brush.

Every time I checked in on MSNBC today, they were shamelessly attempting to link this senseless violence to the TEA Party. Fox News, I am happy to report, never once came close to speculating as to what the motive might have been.

But, more often than not, senseless one-off violence of this sort is carried out by somebody who is just plain crazy -- somebody whose political views, whatever they might be, are rendered utterly meaningless by sheer insanity. My impression at the moment is that this one fits that bill -- time will tell.

Of course…
If anybody in the Lame Stream Media had found any evidence that Jared Lee Loughner had EVER attended a TEA Party rally, I have no doubt at all that they would have made that the central focus of their reporting.
