Nah, you could tell she was just reading the script. MLJ is very non-political. Even with the Rush Limbaugh thing, she was cool about it. Sure she joked about it, but she was never nasty. (And she CAN be nasty.)
Actually, I think her upbringing was somewhat conservative. She's from my area, and her dad is totally cool. I don't think she is one of the Hollywood libs.
Honestly, she's just a regular gal that ended up on a really cool show. She's not really part of the Hollywood in crowd. I hope she stays cool AND I hope she is coming back next year!
I tend to agree with you in so far as the actors have to do whatever their uber idiot producer demands.
But, as for "making fun of the entire thing", I think she was just "in character", as they say. I don't necessarily see any "tells" in that one. But, it's possible.

I love her character on 24. She's a hoot. I suspect Ms. Rajskub is somebody I would enjoy spending some time with -- whether she is a "true believer" in the religious cult of AGW or not -- many of my friends are.
