NBC Pinheads - What is the internet?

In 1994, the internet had been around for the better part of four decades. From the consumer perspective, Wikipedia notes (with substantiation) that:
“By the mid-1980s CompuServe was one of the largest information and networking services companies in existence”
And yet -- as we see below -- in 1994 NBC Pinheads still did not have a clue what the internet was (or what the @ symbol was).

And, these are the buffoons who purport to keep the rest of us informed? Geez!

Quoting The U.K. Daily Mail:
“The video has already become an internet hit after it was posted last week.

In hilarious 1994 footage of NBC's Today Show, the now-[in]famous American television [so-called] journalist Katie Couric asks her fellow co-hosts how the internet works.

But it seems NBC did not see the funny side, as the employee responsible for making it public has been fired from his job”
