A Euro Awakening in Finland?

Euro-Socialism -- as was inevitable -- is collapsing under the weight of various Socialist entitlement fantasies. The predictable Socialist response is to take from the wealthier Euro nations and give to the “needier” Euro nations. It is wealth redistribution (sound familiar?) on a continental level.

Well, not everybody in Finland is entirely happy with the idea of forcibly taking from Finland and giving to Greece, Ireland and now Portugal. Domestically, they are beginning to question the wisdom of giving “free” housing to immigrants. Huh! Imagine that! Shocking, eh?

Well, to The New York Times, it is shocking and they are none too happy with this Euro-Awakening. In the NYT fantasy world, the Finns are not questioning the wisdom of the Euro-Socialist welfare state, they’re just a bunch of racist right wing extremists (sound familiar?)

As Margaret Thatcher once said:
"The trouble with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money."

Our own day of reckoning is bearing down on us fast.

  1. Very interesting and great cartoon. Shades of Mark Steyn's book, America Alone.

Of course, that immediately brings us to our own day of reckoning.

    We live in interesting times.

  2. Chris,

I see you are aware of the old Chinese (or English, or American) curse.

    Interesting indeed...
