Former Dim Senator Brazenly Seeks to Exploit Tragedy

Dims are never shy about brazenly and dishonestly seeking to exploit tragedies for purely political ends. Former Democratic Senator Tim Wirth is the latest example.

While pimping for his purely political climate change agenda, Wirth is quoted to have said:

“While you can’t predict exactly from the climate models what’s going to happen, we know that the overall trend is going to be increased drought, increased flooding, increased number of fires. And we’re seeing exactly that sort of thing in the United States today with increased flooding this last year, with the fires that have swept, raging through Arizona and western New Mexico and Texas, the kind of dramatic climate impact that we have seen in the United States already.”

But, the facts are:

1) Winter, 2011 in the continental USA was COOLER than the average winter for the entire 20th century (and has been trending downward for 24 years).

So, all that snow (which created all that flooding) was NOT caused by global warming. Oh, and just 11 years ago, the alarmists assured us that “snowfalls are now just a thing of the past.”

2) May, 2011 in the continental USA was 1F COOLER than the average May throughout the entire 20th century.

So, clearly, these tragic, yet perfectly natural, wildfires were NOT caused by global warming.

3) The data on temperatures in the continental USA are documented by peer reviewed science to contain about a 30% warming bias.

So, in reality, it was even colder last winter and last May than the NOAA data indicate.
