No lie is too big or too small if it helps to sell their snake oil.
And, they wonder why we have contempt for so-called “journalists”.
The so-called “profession” of so-called “journalism” has DESTROYED the USA.
Quoting NPR’s Nina Totenberg:
“there were more people on food stamps under George W. Bush”
The federal government reports that the peak rate of food stamp usage under President Bush was 31,624,844 (in 2008).
The federal government reports that -- in October, 2011 (the most recent data available), 46,224,722 people were receiving what used to be called food stamps (in 2008, it became known as SNAP).
The Far Left Huffington Post and other sources acknowledge that more people (by FAR) are on what used to be called food stamps than ever before.

The laughably named Far Left site FactCheck.org once again compares 8 years under Bush to 3 years under Obama in order to spin their own (still factually incorrect) lie.
The federal government reports that -- during the 8 years of the Bush Presidency -- the number of people on food stamps rose by 14,559,919.
The federal government reports that -- after LESS THAN 3 years under Obama -- the number of people on food stamps rose by 14,701,213
Under Bush, it grew at a rate of 1,819,990 per year.
Under Obama, is has grown at a rate of 5,188,663 per year (285% FASTER than Bush).
Correction to previous comment:
Make that 185% faster (or 2.85 times faster) than Bush.
terrence,
I suppose you're quoting (with tongue held firmly in cheek) the gospel according to PBS, NPR, MSNBC, CNN, HLN, ABC, CBS, NBC, NYT, and almost every other media (er, sorry, propaganda) outlet in the entire country.
Just remember, it's not a lie if you believe it...
John,
At best, a lie is not a willful lie if one "believes" the lie to be true. But, it's still a lie.
Since Ms. Totenberg purports to be a "journalist", she should have and easily could have confirmed that the mythology she prefers to believe is, in fact, a bald faced lie -- just like the rest of her ideology.
Shame on her!
Sorry... I should have attributed my comment so that it might be better interrupted.
"Just remember, it's not a lie if you believe it..."
George Castanza to Jerry Seinfeld when describing how to beat a lie detector test.
John,
Thanks for clarifying. Now, if only we could subject Ms. Totenberg to a lie detector test!
