Does Wind Power INCREASE CO2 Emissions?

1) Let’s start by noting that the global hysteria over CO2 emissions is utterly unjustified.

2) We already know that Ethanol did exactly the opposite of everything it was purported to do.

3) Now, we see (below) that wind power (also heavily subsidized by governments) may very well do the same.

Quoting Dutch physicist C. le Pair:

“Wind generated electricity requires back-up capacity of conventional power stations. This capacity is required to deliver electricity to consumers when wind supply is falling short. To have the non-wind power stations ramp up or down to compensate for the stochastic wind variations causes extra efficiency loss for such power stations…

Wind energy easily costs more than it yields, not only in monetary terms, but also in non-sustainable energy use. Thus it will easily increase rather than decrease CO2 emission.”

Cultural Marxism in the Energy Sector

The one and only doctrine which drives every facet of the Democratic Party is Cultural Marxism (aka Political Correctness).

Quoting a speech by Bill Lind on Political Correctness:

“just as in classical economic Marxism certain groups, i.e. workers and peasants, are a priori good, and other groups, i.e., the bourgeoisie and capital owners, are evil. In the cultural Marxism of Political Correctness certain groups are good – feminist women, (only feminist women, non-feminist women are deemed not to exist) blacks, Hispanics, homosexuals. These groups are determined to be ‘victims,’ and therefore automatically good regardless of what any of them do. Similarly, white males are determined automatically to be evil, thereby becoming the equivalent of the bourgeoisie in economic Marxism.”

So, how does Cultural Marxism translate to the energy sector? Isn’t it obvious? Hydrocarbon energy (and any other product -- like plastic -- derived from hydrocarbons) is a priori evil (a myth routinely reinforced by media lies) and all energy sources labeled “Green” are a priori good (no matter how much evil they perpetrate or how many economies they ruin).

Cultural Marxism in the energy sector manifests itself in many, many ways. The following article examines just one facet -- the brazen hypocrisy surrounding the enforcement of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Under this act, seven oil companies have been charged with allegedly killing 28 migratory birds (with an average alleged kill rate of 4 birds per oil company). Meantime, according to The New York Times, wind turbines kill 440,000 birds each year and domestic cats kill 500,000,000 birds each year. Yet, only oil companies have been charged with a crime.

“You may have gotten wind of the seven North Dakota oil companies recently charged in federal court with the deaths of 28 migratory birds.

The birds allegedly landed in oil waste pits in western North Dakota last spring; the maximum penalty for each charge under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act is six months in prison and a $15,000 fine, the AP said.

But did you know that wind-power companies are responsible for more than 400,000 bird deaths annually, and not one has faced a single charge?”

Wind Farms Paid NOT to Produce Electricity

First, the lunatic Left subsidizes the development of pie in the sky wind farms. THEN, once they finally realize how utterly inappropriate wind farms are for producing electricity, the same lunatic Left pays the wind farms NOT to produce electricity!

Isn’t the Socialist Utopia grand? Don’t you just love it when government bureaucrats intervene in private markets to select (through unmitigated cronyism and brazen corruption) the technological winners and losers?

I wonder…
Would we all be better off letting market forces determine winners, losers and market niches? DUH!
