Quoting DailyTech.com:“ Data from the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) has indicated a dramatic increase in sea ice extent in the Arctic regions. The growth over the past year covers an area of 700,000 square kilometers: an amount twice the size the nation of Germany.”
Can we remove the Polar Bear from the threatened species list already? Or, will all that cold weather kill more bears? Is CO2 to blame for the cold and the massive ice gains? Don’t laugh! The alarmists now blame CO2 for Global Cooling! Is there ANYTHING that CO2 is NOT responsible for?

Artic ice melt is NORMAL during an interglacial warming period such as the present one. Allow me to quote peer reviewed science regarding the previous interglacial warming period (known as the Eemian):
“ The warmest millennia of at least the past 250,000 years occurred during the Last Interglaciation, when global ice volumes were similar to or smaller than today”
“During the Last Interglaciation (LIG) Earth was warmer than at any time in at least the past 250,000 years, with global temperatures 0–2 C above present”
“Insolation, amplified by key boundary condition feedbacks, collectively produced Last Interglacial summer temperature anomalies 4–5 C above present over most Arctic lands”
“The absence of any ice older than the LIG [LIG = Last InterGlacial, aka Eemian] at the base of the larger Canadian ice caps indicates they melted completely during the LIG, only to reappear when climate deteriorated during the transition into the ensuing glacial period (Koerner and Fisher, 2002).”
