If Mr. Steele had become the first African-American President, does anybody think he would have received the media adulation that Obama has? Will the so-called mainstream media cover - even in proportion - this historic event with anything even remotely approaching the Obama phenomena? If, in your wildest dreams, you think either answer could possibly be yes, then you are truly blind to the nature of so-called “journalism” today.
Congratulations Mr. Steele. From what I have seen of you, I am impressed. Lead well. Please help guide the party back to the principles of limited government. Goodness knows, after 4 years of Obama we’ll need it more than ever.

This is a very, very sad day for America. The election of Steele proves that the Republican party will not go in the direction they need to for the sake of our country. They can expect to be in the minority for quite some time to come.
Are you a true conservative or just a kool aid drinker? If you are a true conservative then you would listen to what this other true conservative has to say about him.

He's a RINO. On that we can be clear. This proves that the Republican Party's move to the Left might be a permanent legacy of the Bush years.

Suffice to say that Michael Steele impresses me far more than Steve Deace does. That was my first and last time to listen to Mr. Deace.
If I believed that Mr. Steele was selected for any reason other than his qualifications for the job, I might partially agree with Mr. Deace. That is not my impression.
If we do not reverse our avalanche-like slide towards a totalitarian Socialist state, nothing else will matter. Frankly, I am not sure that is possible. I deeply fear we have passed a tipping point of no return. I do hope that Mr. Steele can lead the Republican Party and the nation back to the principles of limited government.
I also hope to see Roe v Wade overturned and the Constitutional authority of the various duly elected state legislatures to decide that matter restored. Roe v Wade was, without a doubt, the single greatest judicial travesty and cultural tragedy in the history of the nation.
