in marking the passing of Captain Phil Harris:
The crabbers on Deadliest Catch are, in many ways, quintessential Americans -- imperfect (as we are all) but ultimately very admirable (much like Johnny Cash).
Captain Phil Harris was just that (and so much more).
Like most fans of the show, I felt I had come to know and love Captain Phil.
I mourn his passing and I feel enriched for having had just a tiny glimpse into the life of this admirable American man, his family and his friends.
I believe the producers of Deadliest Catch were tasteful in how they covered this most intimate of family moments.
Godspeed Captain Phil -- best wishes to his sons Jake and Josh.
