The so-called “Progressive” religious cult was largely foisted upon us through pop culture. The majority of the world -- whether they know it or not -- developed their opinion of American Conservatives through pop culture (and the utterly dishonest bastards who call themselves “journalists”).
And, until pop culture starts -- in a big way -- to satirize and savage “Progressives” in a manner similar what has been done to Conservatives, we will be stuck with lunatics like the ones currently running our government.

I always assumed the murderous lying thugs who cleave to the totalitarian political religious cult euphemistically known to some as the “Progressive” ideology would soon resume their eco-imperialistic genocidal policies by reinstating their counter scientific ban on DDT. Sure enough, they have.
Ask anybody who grew up in the South during the 40’s, 50’s or 60’s about the joys -- as a child -- of running directly behind the DDT truck as it fogged the neighborhood to prevent the spread of encephalitis. Now, realize that this generation is healthier than any which preceded it and ask yourself just how insanely malevolent these neurotic eco-imperialists really are.

Imagine if FDR had attempted to defeat the Axis powers by affording every enemy combatant every right afforded American citizens and by prosecuting every enemy combatant in a Federal court of law. What would have happened if the Axis powers were fighting a war and the Allied powers were attempting to prosecute each and every individual enemy combatant as if he was merely a criminal? We would all now be speaking German!
But, although al Qaeda declared war against the United States in 1998, what I described above is EXACTLY what lunatics such as Rachel Maddow and others at MSNBC propose -- nay, demand!
Naturally, candidate Obama told these nuts precisely what they wanted to hear. Today, President Obama -- the one who NOW receives the “President’s Daily Brief” is obviously coming to understand exactly how insane, self-destructive and utterly unworkable this approach really is.
But, President Obama does not have the spine required to admit his foolishness and openly reverse this particular position. Oh, no! President Obama -- as he so often does -- is attempting to have it both ways. In doing so, President Obama is wading directly into the bottomless quagmire of waging war with lawyers on the front lines. In doing so, he is guaranteed to take heavy fire from ALL sides. Well after Cheney had scheduled the date for the above speech, Obama decided to preempt it with a speech timed to conclude just before Cheney’s began. It appears as though the tail is wagging the dog yet again. It is yet another sure sign of one not fit to lead.

I have long suspected that canvas grocery bags were just food poisoning waiting to happen. Now we have scientific evidence to substantiate my suspicions.
Quoting Canada’s National Post:
“• The moist, dark, warm interior of a folded used reusable bag that has acquired a small amount of water and trace food contamination is an ideal incubator for bacteria.
• The strong presence of yeasts in some bags indicates the presence of water and microbial growth substrate (food).
• There is a potential for cross-contamination of food if the same reusable bags are used on successive trips.
• Check-out staff in stores may be transferring these microbes from reusable bag to reusable bag as the contaminants get on their hands.
• In cases of food poisoning, experts will have to test reusable bags in addition to food products as the possible sources of contamination.”

To be safe, one would have to wash the cloth bag(s) after each visit to the grocery store. Factor THAT into your environmental equation! And, how many will actually do that?
For those who do not harbor an irrational hatred for anything produced from petroleum, using and recycling plastic bags is by FAR the most environmentally friendly (and sensible) choice. But, don’t even attempt to tell that to one of the religious cult members carrying a reusable bag.
