“THE WINNER OF THE 2010 CLIMATE B.S.* OF THE YEAR AWARD
First Place goes to the following set of B.S.: ‘There has been no warming since 1998’ ”
“The trend in the ENSO-related component for 1999–2008 is +0.08±0.07°C decade, fully accounting for the overall observed trend. The trend after removing ENSO (the "ENSO-adjusted" trend) is 0.00°±0.05°C decade.”Folks, you just can’t make this stuff up!
At least the alarmists at NOAA are honest enough to remove ENSO (El Niño Southern Oscillation) from their data. Propagandists like Dr. Gleick cynically exploit the 2010 El Niño warming in a desperate effort to prop up their increasingly rejected purely political agenda -- a political agenda which both the public AND the scientific community KNOW is PURE BS!
Unfortunately, after the Dims could NOT get enough votes from their own damn party to pass their Cap & Trade crap, the purely political tyrants at EPA did an end run around the duly elected Congress and regulated CO2 anyway!
I hereby present Dr. Peter Gleick with the illustrious moron/propagandist of the century award! What a loon! If you read his desperate drivel further, it just gets more and more factually incorrect. The last link in this post refutes his propaganda point by point.

Such a liar (you, that is). Gleick is right. The NOAA report you "quote" above is completely misquoted by you. It actually says warming is faster than you pretend, by far. Read the rest and you find:
"recent observational trends are not sufficient to discount predictions of substantial climate change and its significant and widespread impacts. Given the likelihood that internal variability contributed to the slowing of global temperature rise in the last decade, we expect that warming will resume in the next few years, consistent with predictions from near-term climate forecasts" And INDEED, the following years had record high Ts.This makes YOU a co-winner of the BS Award of the Year, as in the Gleick post.

“The NOAA report you ‘quote’ above is completely misquoted by you.”
And, here we have yet another bald faced liar from the CAGW propagandist team. It is readily verifiable that I quoted the NOAA report verbatim. So, how is it possible that I “misquoted” the report? The additional quote you offer is nothing but the usual crystal ball gazing from the dedicated alarmists at NOAA. Click here for the alternative view. Unlike the NOAA alarmists, I cited peer reviewed science which supports my view.
Our bald faced liar continues the dishonesty by saying:
“the following years [2009 & 2010] had record high T[emperature]s”
Come on! How stupid (and dishonest) are you?
1) 2009 was on a par with the rest of the 1999-2008 period. The annualized mean temperature warmed from the unusual COLD of 2008, but not outside the range for 1999-2008.
2) I addressed the 2010 El Niño dishonesty in the main body of the post. 2010 is the ONLY year since 1998 to deviate from the flat trend and that anomaly was ENTIRELY driven by the El Niño noise (which the NOAA alarmists are honest enough to remove from their data).
What a (typical) MORON!
Things will certainly get better in 2011.
To you and yours,
Happy New Year.
Paul,
Thank you!
And, a very happy new year to you and yours!
I 2nd that, have a great New Year and keep on doing what you do. It's a great service.
