The data cited are correct. But, not only did Obama have nothing to do with these gains, he did nothing but constrain that growth.
1) The large majority of the growth took place on private land. What, exactly, has Obama done to increase oil production on private land? NOTHING! To the contrary -- in addition to all the harm he has already done, Obama now wants to increase taxes on all oil producers. Anybody think THAT will increase domestic oil production?
2) The increased production on Federal and Indian lands during 2009 & 2010 resulted from leases granted under Bush 43.
3) In 2011 -- thanks to Obama -- oil production on Federal and Indian lands DROPPED by 13%!
4) Click here and examine enormous opportunities (most of it on Federal lands) which the Obama administration has refused to allow to be developed.
