Saying the police “acted stupidly” is not a miscalibration of words. It is a direct offense. Obama has not yet offered an apology; he has only made matters worse by blaming others for misunderstanding his intent. Sorry, the President’s intent was very, very clear. And the apology is WAY overdue.
