Click the image & read the story: Click here for some basic climate change science. Here in Steamboat Springs, the forecast calls for -22F tonight. At 10:40PM, it is already down to -12F. 1/8/10 Update: -22F was, indeed, the low temperature this morning.
I am not arguing in favor of global warming, but just as some warm temperatures don't mean global warming, so cold temperatures don't mean otherwise. What I mean is; temporary temperature fluctuations don't prove anything either way. Science is what it is. Facts can not be altered due to emotions or politics or bad dreams, and we need to have the facts and reality. I am tired of political agendas getting in the way of the truth. And, again; I am not arguing in favor or against global warming or manmade global warming. Even you must see that some small amount of climate change (however small) can be attributed to man and animal population and development on this planet. This does not discredit or credit either side of the issue, but it could validate one side or the other with open minded scientific methodology. Right?
One of the problems is with the models. Another problem may lie in estimates of glacier life spans (my theory only). What if some of the model discrepancies lie in the belief that the glaciers would last for a certain number of years? Could someone's calculations have been off?
I am not a scientist. I only have my limited lifetime of clouded memories to go by, but I remember times being cooler when I was a kid. I remember when 100 degrees was hot in Phoenix, but then again it could just be faulty memory... And, I have been brainwashed a couple of times, at least.
