I ran NCDC data for Illinois Winter 1998 to 2010. The trend was -5.03F degrees per decade with 2010 being the 2nd coldest out of 12 years. Crop yields in Illinois were down 20% in 2009 because temps were also well below average in 2009. It amazes me that there are jokers out there upset that the growing season had been getting longer. If we head into a solar minimum as many solar physicists are predicting crop yields will decline further and then these pencil pushers posing as scientists might get a clue as to what catastrophic climate change really is.

Isn’t it ironic that we find ourselves almost hoping for a cooling trend which we KNOW will be far more destructive than any warming trend?
Well, of course, we also know that government bureaucrats are FAR more destructive than anything found in nature.
And so, we hope for destruction by cold in the hopes that we might avoid the far greater destruction wrought by bureaucrats.
