Barack Obama - President Pantywaist

Quoting the U.K. Telegraph (from 4/10/2009):
“Watch out, France and Co, there is a new surrender monkey on the block and, over the next four years, he [Obama] will spectacularly sell out the interests of the West with every kind of liberal-delusionist initiative on nuclear disarmament and sitting down to negotiate with any power freak who wants to buy time to get a good ICBM fix on San Francisco, or wherever. If you thought the world was a tad unsafe with Dubya around, just wait until President Pantywaist gets into his stride.”

When will the U.K. Telegraph be added to Obama’s enemies list?

Hey! Making the world safe for despots, dictators and terrorists
is ONE campaign promise President Pantywaist has kept:

My dear President Pantywaist:
Are you done dithering yet?
Or, are you too busy playing celebrity wannabe?

I have a hard time with this because on the one hand I think the white house should have taken a different tact, but on the other hand not doing something to defend their position leads to an appearance of capitulation. I do agree that it does appear juvenile. I know that I would grow weary of the incessant attacks, but that is part of being in the White House. If no one is disagreeing with you something is wrong. I would have attempted a more open friendly and even educational approach. Give Hannity and Beck the attention that they want and make them look like civilized people, or maybe even the famous meeting over a beer (non alcohol for Beck). I guess it would be a show of standing for your beliefs and showing that you are big enough to see that others have a right to express themselves in their way.

I have been hesitant to criticize Obama, I even write pro-Obama posts, but it becomes difficult to continue under increasing pressure. I hope you realize that there is no worship for him, just hoping to see more than an image. I actually didn't want him to win the primary.... actually hoped for a Republican win for many reasons. He is the president and some respect should be expected along with differences of opinion, but he is losing the respect of many and it will take a lot to EARN back that respect if it can be done at all.

Thank you for continuing to do what you do.

And, I hope this was not too confusing or conflicted.

Thomas,

Your comments are always appreciated and sensible.

1) Obama is -- just as I expected -- proving to be a disaster on every single foreign policy front. This is the one area where McCain would have shined. And, during wartime, we always need somebody who can competently manage foreign policy.

I am no fan of McCain. But, I was desperate to see him win because:

A) We needed his leadership during wartime.

B) We needed SOME sort of counterbalance to a Congress which is -- by FAR -- the most radical bunch of lunatics EVER assembled in Washington D.C. (and, with a supermajority to boot).

Instead, we got a President who is so extreme as to almost make Congress look moderate by comparison.

I feared for the Republic the day he won office. And, today, I fear more than ever. It is going to be a VERY trying 4 years!

2) To my everlasting surprise, Obama has proven to be FAR MORE incompetent in managing domestic politics. Both Left and Right agree that picking a street fight with Fox News was the dumbest thing ANY President has done in a VERY long time.

But, honestly, I’m glad he picked that fight. That fight will only help to further discredit him and further limit the extent of the damage he WILL do to this nation.
