Eight Years of Iraq War Cost Less Than Stimulus Act

Quoting Fox News:
“As President Obama prepares to tie a bow on U.S. combat operations in Iraq, Congressional Budget Office numbers show that the total cost of the eight-year war was less than the stimulus bill passed by the Democratic-led Congress in 2009.

According to CBO numbers in its Budget and Economic Outlook published this month, the cost of Operation Iraqi Freedom was $709 billion for military and related activities, including training of Iraqi forces and diplomatic operations.

The projected cost of the stimulus, which passed in February 2009, and is expected to have a shelf life of two years, was $862 billion.”

My notes on the Fox report:

1) To verify spending on the Iraq war, see Box 1-3 on page 15 of this CBO link and tally each expense related to Iraq. As reported, it totals $709 billion.

2) The $862 billion figure was reported in January of 2010. The August, 2010 CBO report now projects the cost of the “stimulus” at $814 billion.

3) Bonds issued to fund the ‘stimulus’ cause two years of profligate spending to take 11 years in order to fully accrue all the directly related deficits.

Illegal Immigration - The Root Cause

Anytime you find a black market in anything you can be certain that the root of the problem is excessive (and counter-productive) government regulation. That was true during Prohibition. Today, it is true for narcotics and it is equally true for illegal immigration.

Currently, it is far easier to immigrate illegally than to immigrate legally. And, no matter how much money (and blood) we spend attempting to end illegal immigration, that will remain the case (and illegal immigration will continue). We would be FAR better off to make it FAR easier for FAR more people to immigrate legally. (We would also be FAR better off to decriminalize the production, distribution and consumption of all narcotics.)

But, labor unions and the Dim politicians in bed with them (quite cynically) oppose allowing more legal immigration. The union leaders (quite cynically) argue that more legal immigrants will drive down labor costs. They (quite cynically) present this as a zero sum game where there is a fixed economic pie to be divided up among all working Americans. It’s a bald faced LIE!

More immigration means more economic activity and a LARGER economic pie for ALL! Any labor “leader” with at least half a brain understands this. That same pea brain also understands that creating a black market in illegal immigrants DEPRESSES wages and benefits for working Americans (by virtue of allowing employers to pay cash off the books to ghosts who supposedly aren’t really here). In turn, those depressed wages and benefits amount to job security for the (quite cynical) labor leaders and the Dim politicians in bed with them who -- as always -- decry the very conditions they (quite cynically) create.

The solution is NOT to crack down on illegal immigration! Just like the utterly failed war in drugs, that approach will NEVER work no matter HOW much money (and blood) we throw at it.

The ONLY solution is to decriminalize illegal immigration (and eliminate all entitlement programs so as to ensure we do not attract parasites). We would ALL be FAR better off! Unfortunately, our (quite cynical) politicians will ONLY embrace that concept well AFTER hell freezes over. So, expect to waste even more blood and even more treasure in an ever escalating failed war on immigration and an ever escalating failed war on drugs -- it’s the way of a (quite cynical) big government mindset.

Obama's Epic Failure - Q2 GDP Edition

I found no comfort in the reported “upturn in state and local government spending, and a pick up in federal government spending”.

Alan Simpson speaks truth to power

Quoting Fox News:
“Former Sen. Alan Simpson will keep his job on President Obama’s deficit panel despite pressure from advocacy groups worried about his comments comparing Social Security to ‘a milk cow with 310 million tits.’ ”
Quoting The (uber-Liberal) Washington Post
(emphasis mine):
The enormous sums committed to mandatory federal programs such as Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid dwarf all other aspects of the budget. Left unchecked for a decade or two, they will consume a larger share of the nation's GDP than all our federal programs today combined. Coupled with increasing interest payments on the government's rising debt, they will either force up taxes [on the middle class] or produce dangerous deficits.”
Look! We all know Dims treat their enormously destructive entitlement programs as if they were downright sacrosanct. Just ask Sharron Angle how badly Dim propagandists in the media will burn any politician who dares to touch that third rail of American politics. But, even the Leftist Washington Post KNOWS that the ONLY hope of even BEGINNING to reduce deficit spending is to target the big three entitlements (and repeal ObamaCare).

The Catastrophe That Wasn’t - The Gulf Oil Spill in Perspective

Quoting Paul Schwennesen at MasterResource:
“Picture your neighbor’s pool. Unless you live in Malibu, it’ll contain about 6,000 gallons. That’s the ‘Gulf’ for purposes of discussion. Now go to your garage, get a quart of oil and pour it in when he’s not looking. Pretty good sense of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, right?

Nope, not even close. Put a drop of that oil onto a sheet of paper and carefully cut it in half. Now do it again and toss that quarter of a drop into the deep end. Even this quarter droplet (about the size of the comma in this sentence) is about 10% too large, but NOW you have a sense of what 4.9 million barrels of oil in the Gulf looks like…

It would be safe to assume that 99% of the spill’s effects (economic loss, fishery damage, species diversity/habitat loss) will have disappeared along with the oil in one year or less.”

Let's Regulate Unfair IRS Penalties!

Among other things, the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009 limits the penalties which lenders can impose upon those who do not pay their bills on time.

Among other things, this legislation will make lenders less likely to extend credit to those who need that credit the most. But, our lawmakers live in a fantasy world where supposedly well intentioned regulations never backfire.

At Cafe Hayek, Donald J. Boudreaux proposes that our lawmakers test their devotion to this “peculiar faith” on their part by suggesting that they reduce -- via regulation -- IRS penalties for late payments and other more onerous penalties (including jail time).

If reduced penalties for late credit card payments will not result in higher delinquency rates, surely the same is true for tax collections.

New Jersey finds TWO ObamaCare 'Beneficiaries'

According to an Associated Press report published by Fox News, “[j]ust two people in New Jersey will begin receiving coverage Monday under new plans created by federal health care reforms.”

1) These two “beneficiaries” of ObamaCare will pay up to $768 per MONTH for this “benefit”.

2) The tax payers are on the hook for $141 MILLION in federal subsidies to provide for these two “beneficiaries”.

Congressman Jay Inslee is a bald faced liar!

Congressman Jay Inslee (D-WA) appeared tonight on “On The Record”. He regurgitated the same tired old Democrat deceptions and outright LIES about drilling in ANWR (Alaska National Wildlife Refuge).

Inslee allegations:

1) The biggest bald faced lie of all:
The USA should not bother to drill because we (supposedly) only have 3% of the world’s oil.

2) Drilling in ANWR will break a promise to future generations to preserve wilderness.

3) There is not enough oil in ANWR to make any difference.

FACTS:

1) Click here to utterly dispel the biggest bald faced lie of all -- the BALD FACED LIE that the USA has only 3% of the world’s oil.

2) The ANWR area proposed for development amounts to literally 1/100th of 1% of the total ANWR area. This proposed area is desolate and ugly all year round.

3) With a mean estimate of 10.4 billion barrels, ANWR alone is estimated to boost our proven reserves by 48%!

Mean estimates for ANWR amount to almost as much oil as Brazil’s entire proven reserves!

Additionally, the data prove that ANWR alone could have prevented the price spikes of 2008.

Russian Wildfires & Global Warming Propaganda

Quoting The [propaganda of the purely political] New York Times:
“ ‘If you ask me as a person, do I think the Russian heat wave has to do with climate change, the answer is yes,’ said Gavin Schmidt, a climate researcher with NASA in New York. ‘If you ask me as a scientist whether I have proved it, the answer is no — at least not yet.’ ”
For the uninitiated, Gavin Schmidt (of RealClimate.org) is arguably the single most overt propagandist in the religious cult of Man Made Catastrophic Global Warming Hysteria.

Yet, even Gavin admits there is no science which links the Russian wildfires to climate change of any variety, much less man made climate change.

But, where so-called “journalists” [and certain unscrupulous “scientists”] are concerned, science and evidence be damned! It’s full speed ahead with the hysteria mongering purely political propaganda!

Dr. Roger Pielke Jr. -- professor of environmental studies -- has devoted much of his career to examining the link (or lack thereof) between climate change and the consequences of weather disasters. Dr. Pielke notes (I inserted the link):
“This [Gavin’s absurd NYT comment] neatly sums up the first of two reasons why I think that the current debate over whether greenhouse gas emissions caused/exacerbated/influenced recent disasters around the world is a fruitless debate. It is not a debate that can be resolved empirically, but rather depends upon hunches, speculation and beliefs…

there should be no ambiguity in the fact that researchers who have looked for a signal of increasing GHGs
[Green House Gases] in increasing disaster losses (whether measured in dollars or in lives) have yet to see such a signal. It would be scientifically incorrect to claim that GHGs have been shown to account for any portion of the damage or suffering resulting from recent events.”
For the record…
Despite his empirical realism with respect to the fact that there is no quantifiable link between climate change and weather induced disasters, Dr. Pielke advocates for government intervention to reduce CO2 emissions. But, Dr. Pielke has, to date, failed to honor the promise he made to me on 7/31/09 to explain in his blog why he believes this is a good idea. Perhaps this is because he does not think it fruitful to wage a political battle by challenging ‘deniers’ on matters of science. Personally, I think Dr. Pielke knows he is promoting an indefensible agenda. I think Dr. Pielke knows that he cannot prevail in any open and honest debate. But, no AGW alarmist can. That is why -- to a person -- they almost always avoid any such open debate.

The tenth amendment to the United States Constitution made the CNS reporter’s question extremely relevant. Pelosi’s response (“Are you SERIOUS?”) says it all -- she has NO respect for our Constitution, NO respect for the rule of law and NO respect for the people she purports to serve. She is a power crazed TYRANT in every sense of the word. She is VERY typical of the VERY tyranny which our founding fathers rebelled AGAINST!

Yes, Nancy -- we’re SERIOUS! It is a slam dunk certainty that this constitutional question will be brought before the Supreme Court. When pimping for this tyranny, Obama and his Dims vigorously denied that this mandate to purchase health insurance was a tax. Now that his lawyers are trying desperately to find a way to pretend that this mandate is NOT unconstitutional, Obama’s lawyers are vigorously insisting that this mandate IS actually a tax posing as a mandate.

Let's Play 'Spot The Democrat'

Quoting Ann Coulter:
“In the greatest party-affiliation cover-up since the media tried to portray Gary Condit as a Republican, the media are refusing to mention the party affiliation of the thieving government officials in Bell, Calif.

There have been hundreds of news stories about Bell city officials' jaw-dropping salaries. In this poor city on the outskirts of Los Angeles, where the per capita annual income is $24,800 a year, the city manager, Robert Rizzo, had a salary of $787,637.

That's about twice what the president of the United States makes. (To be fair, Rizzo was doing a better job.)

Rizzo was the highest-paid government employee in the entire country, not counting Maxine Waters' husband -- pending further revelations. With benefits, his total annual compensation, according to the Los Angeles Times, came to $1.5 million a year…

According to Nexis, there have been more than 300 news stories reporting on the Bell scandal. Guess how many mentioned the party affiliation of the corrupt government bureaucrats?

One. Yes, just one. Now guess if the government officials were Democrats or Republicans? Yes, that is correct. Congratulations -- you've qualified for our bonus round!

The one newspaper to cough up party affiliations, The Orange County Register, admitted that the corrupt officials were all Democrats only in response to reader complaints about the peculiar omission….

Unlike political corruption involving sex or bribery, the outrage in Bell isn't a scandal that hits both parties from time to time -- it's how the Democrats govern.

Elected Democratic officials bestow ludicrous salaries and benefits packages on government employees, and, in return, public employee unions make sure the Democrats keep getting re-elected.

The scandal in Bell isn't a scandal at all for the Democrats. Au contraire! This is the governing strategy of the Democratic Party.”

Locally published climate change propaganda

8/11/10 Update:
Yesterday, I sent Steamboat Magazine an e-mail. I alerted them to the factual inaccuracies and omissions described below and requested retractions and/or corrections. I advised them to respond by posting a comment on this blog. Thus far, no response. But, hey, nobody expects integrity from “journalists” these days anyway.

Original post follows:
Steamboat Magazine has published a climate change propaganda piece written by local freelancer Jennie Lay.

The article is so over the top ridiculous that it’s hardly worth noting. But, I’ll debunk it anyway (and demand retractions and/or corrections from Steamboat Magazine).

As a starting point, click here for a semi-comprehensive examination of the single most expensive fraud ever perpetrated on the human race.

Below, I will iteratively quote the article and then debunk the quote:

1) “Many of the world’s leading climate scientists (including NASA’s James Hansen, who first warned us about global warming two decades ago) say 350 parts per million is the safe upper limit for CO2 in our atmosphere.”

Short rebuttal - I can’t find ANY other scientists who support Hansen’s 350 ppm lunacy.

James Hansen has fully (and repeatedly) discredited himself. Hansen’s utterly absurd diatribe on 350 ppm of CO2 is yet another example demonstrating why so few people take him seriously.

Let’s start by putting current CO2 levels into proper perspective (details and citation links found here).

Jennie suggested that “[m]any of the world’s leading climate scientists” agree with this 350 ppm nonsense. So, I went looking for just ONE -- I did not find ANY!

The 350.org “Our Team” page does not describe ANYBODY with ANY science credentials. Nor could I find any list of scientists backing their agenda. They did (rather inaccurately) claim that “Rajendra Pachauri, the U.N's top climate scientist, said in an interview today that 350 was the bottom line for the planet.” However, not only is Pachauri NOT a climate scientist, Pachauri has NO academic background in ANY branch of science!

The bio for the co-founder of 350.org only mentions that he “was president of the Harvard Crimson newspaper in college”. There is not even any suggestion that he ever earned any sort of college degree, much less any science degree.

Who the other co-founder of 350.org is seems to be a secret. Could it be James Hansen? How about Al Gore? Why the secrecy?

The Wikipedia page for 350.org also lists only non-scientist Pachauri as the closest thing to a second scientist endorsing Hansen’s 350 ppm nonsense!

Did Jennie Lay knowingly lie? You tell me.

2) “We’re already at close to 390 parts per million – approaching what experts call a ‘tipping point’ where impacts like melting glaciers, drought, spreading disease and rising sea levels are irreversible.”

So, Jennie, WHO are these unnamed “experts”? And, when you say “approaching”, do you mean we’re really, really close to apocalypse?

I found ONE article from an extremely biased source claiming that a whopping 13 scientists worldwide give this “tipping point” more than a 50:50 chance (but, ONLY when discussing the absolute worst case scenario projected by the utterly discredited IPCC and ONLY if we’re projecting current trends out to the year 2200).

Sorry folks, current trends would probably have us burn through all hydrocarbon resources prior to 2100, much less 2200. So, what we have here is pure, unadulterated FANTASY projected out 190 years from now producing slightly more than a 50:50 chance of a “tipping point” in the minds of 13 cherry picked scientists.

We now return you to reality…
Click here to put that IPCC worst case scenario into proper perspective (details and data sources found here).

Click here to further debunk this “tipping point” nonsense.

Click here and here and here to debunk ice melt hysteria mongering.

Click here and here to debunk “spreading disease” hysteria mongering.

Click here to debunk sea level hysteria mongering.

3) “The Rockies are headed for warmer temperatures, smaller snowpacks, earlier melt-off”

Well, at least Jennie did not attempt to say any of this is currently happening. It’s almost as if she is actually aware of the facts (I seriously doubt it).

Even the temperature data which peer reviewed science documents as having “an estimated warm bias of about 30%” demonstrates that (contrary to AGW dogma) there is been NO WINTER WARMING in the United States over the last 23 years (details & data links found here).

As for that “earlier melt-off” claim…
That same warm biased data show a 24 year USA year cooling trend for March and April and a 25 year USA cooling trend for May (details & data links found here and here).

4) Dr. Haller is quoted to say “If you look at the International Panel on Climate Change, that’s the longest uncertainty in climate change models – the impact of particles and clouds”

My guess is that Dr. Haller actually said “largest uncertainty”, not “longest uncertainty”, but…
Dr. Haller is absolutely correct. Jennie would have been well advised to inform her readers on the topic of the water vapor assumptions built into the IPCC computer models and how the most recent research is increasingly proving those linchpin assumptions on water vapor to be not merely incorrect, but entirely upside down.

Is anybody surprised that Jennie failed to mention this? I’m not.

5) Jennie devotes the rest of her propaganda to addressing policy responses predicated upon junk science. All I can say is “follow the money”.

Professor Carter estimated (years ago) that a $50 billion gravy train had already been made available to those scientists who were willing to tell worldwide governments what they wanted to hear.

But, $50 billion is chump change compared to what the real hucksters (like Al Gore) stand to make off of this fraud. The IEA estimates the world will waste about $45 TRILLION in pursuing policy follies. Count on that figure being low by at least a full order of magnitude.

Even the Leftists at Time Magazine
cannot ignore the quantitative facts.

Quoting Time Magazine
(emphasis mine):
“Marine scientist Ivor van Heerden… says, ‘There's just no data to suggest this is an environmental disaster…. we're not seeing catastrophic impacts.’

So far, the teams have collected nearly 3,000 dead birds, but fewer than half of them were visibly oiled… the Valdez may have killed as many as 435,000 birds. The teams have found 492 dead sea turtles… only 17 were visibly oiled; otherwise, they have found only one other dead reptile in the entire Gulf…

The shoreline teams have documented more than 600 miles of oiled beaches and marshes, but the beaches are fairly easy to clean, and the beleaguered marshes don't seem to be suffering much additional damage…

[Underfunded green groups? Are you freaking kidding me?] all have obvious incentives to accentuate the negative in the Gulf. So do the media, because disasters drive ratings and sell magazines; those oil-soaked pelicans you saw on TV (and the cover of TIME) were a lot more compelling than the healthy ones I saw roosting on a protective boom in Bay Jimmy… But honest scientists don't do that, even when they work for Audubon.

The Gulf Oil Disaster That Never Was

Quoting The Daily Mail
(I inserted the link):
“In recent days, though, we have witnessed an extraordinary U-turn in America’s attitude towards the great spill.

It began when a respected Time magazine environmental writer voiced the near-heretical proposition: that the effects of the Deepwater Horizon disaster on April 20 had been massively hyped.

His article was largely based on the opinions of Professor Ivan van Heerden, a brilliant but controversial marine scientist fired by Louisiana State University after publishing a book about Hurricane Katrina that said cataclysmic flooding was inevitable because the protection given to the coast
[by massively corrupt and incompetent government bureaucrats] was wholly inadequate.

He said: ‘There is just no data to suggest this is an environmental disaster - although BP lied about the size of the oil spill, we’re not seeing catastrophic impacts.’ ”

NYT Portrays Accused Traitor as Victim

Predictably (and in keeping with the doctrine of Cultural Marxism), the NYT has portrayed suspected traitor Pfc Bradley Manning as a long suffering victim of homophobia whose mommy and daddy (and everybody else) did him wrong.

Yawn…
We knew it was coming.

Hey! NYT! The ONLY story about Manning that interests me is his trail, the verdict and the punishment. If Manning is found guilty, the only acceptable punishment is death. And then, that’s the last thing I EVER want to hear about Pfc Manning.

WikiLeaks Says It Will Publish More Secrets

Quoting Politics Daily:
“WikiLeaks, the whistleblower website that posted thousands of secret Afghanistan war documents, says it intends to keep publishing secret government files from all over the world even though the United States has demanded that it stop, as least insofar as the war is concerned.”

EPA Tyrants - Don't Mess With Texas!

The latest salvo in the war against Federal tyranny
Quoting Marlo Lewis at OpenMarket.org:
“In a blistering letter published earlier in the week, the head of Texas’s environmental agency and the State’s attorney general told the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA): ‘Texas has neither the authority nor the intention of interpreting, ignoring, or amending its laws in order to compel the permitting of greenhouse gas regulations.’

The letter, by Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Chairman Bryan Shaw and Attorney General Gregg Abbott, comes hard on heels of EPA’s denial of 10 petitions (including one from the State of Texas) to reconsider EPA’s endangerment rule. That rule — the agency’s response to the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision in Massachusetts v. EPA – is both trigger and precedent for potentially dramatic and far-reaching Clean Air Act restrictions on fossil energy production and use.”

Time For a Divorce

Quoting David Harsanyi at Townhall.com:
“In the 1500s, a pestering theologian instituted something called the Marriage Ordinance in Geneva, which made ‘state registration and church consecration’ a dual requirement of matrimony.

We have yet to get over this mistake. But isn't it about time we freed marriage from the state?

Imagine if government had no interest in the definition of marriage. Individuals could commit to each other, head to the local priest or rabbi or shaman -- or no one at all -- and enter into contractual agreements, call their blissful union whatever they felt it should be called and go about the business of their lives…

As the debate stands now, we have two activist groups trying to force their own ethical construction of marriage on the rest of us. And to enforce it, they have been using the power of the state -- one via majority rule and the other using the judiciary (subject to change with the vagaries of public opinion)…

In our Utopian vision, no group is empowered to dictate what marriage should mean to another. And one of the great perks would be the end of this debate.”

Ed Morrissey at HotAir.com offered this commentary:
“[W]hile I don’t think that this is an easy path to adopt, it’s going to be the eventual solution. Not only does it take government out of people’s private lives, it also means an end to a divisive and essentially meaningless debate — and it protects houses of faith and ends a potential government interference in matters of religion.”

John Stossel Explores Threats to our Freedom

The Market Value of Leftist Propaganda is $1

Various sources confirm that we now know the market value of Leftist propaganda (Newsweek style) -- $1.

$1 was the sum total of what Sidney Harman paid to purchase Newsweek magazine.

Eco-nuts chose all-or-nothing strategy & nothing won!

Quoting Politico:
“Environmentalists went with an all-or-nothing strategy for the 111th Congress. Nothing won…

After Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) last month scrapped plans for a vote
[on Cap and Trade], the White House made clear it wasn’t impressed with the environmentalists’ effort.

‘They didn’t deliver a single Republican,’ an administration official told POLITICO just hours after Reid pulled the plug on the climate bill. ‘They spent like $100 million, and they weren’t able to get a single Republican convert on the bill.’
[GOOD!]...

‘We really got our ass kicked in August during the town halls,’ EDF spokesman Tony Kreindler said.”…

Don’t think that this is over! When the Dims cannot impose their tyranny through Constitutionally legitimate legislative means, they very often do an end run around the Constitution via the judicial branch.

In this case, the (scientifically illiterate) judicial branch has already given the overtly Socialist Carol Browner (Obama’s Czarina over both DOE and EPA) all the ammo she needs to do an end run around the Constitution and impose even WORSE results through regulatory tyranny.

But, will the overreaching tyranny backfire on the EPA? Kim Strassel thinks it might.

In Missouri, 71% Reject ObamaCare Tyranny

Quoting The Wall Street Journal:
“With all precincts reporting, 71% of voters supported Proposition C, establishing a state law that says Missouri cannot compel people to pay a penalty or fine if they fail to carry health coverage…

The state law runs counter to the federal health law President Barack Obama signed in March, which calls on most Americans to carry coverage or pay a fine.

Some state attorneys general have challenged the insurance mandate as unconstitutional.”

Chris Christie For President

Quoting Andrew B. Wilson at American Spectator
(I inserted the links):
“According to a recent Pew / National Journal poll, nearly two-thirds of the American people think that ‘Barack Obama's economic policies’ have failed. That includes 29% who think the president's policies have led to worse results and another 35% who think they have had little or no effect.

The poll numbers on Obamacare are worse still. A Rasmussen poll shows that a 2-to-1 majority of voters are in favor of repealing the president's landmark health care bill. That includes a stunning 46% who ‘strongly’ favor repeal, against just 25% who ‘strongly’ oppose repeal…

There is a giant con game going on here. The Republican Party needs a leader who is onto it and who is capable of attacking it in no uncertain terms. And more than someone who can criticize the wrong policies, it needs someone who can lead the country in an entirely different direction…

In her column in last weekend's Wall Street Journal, Peggy Noonan pointed to the outspoken New Jersey Governor Chris Christie as the one Republican leader who is not afraid to talk hard sense about real issues and who does so in an exceptionally forceful and compelling manner… I, for one, am more than happy to second the motion that Christie could be the Republicans' man of the hour. He is nothing less than outstanding when it comes to punching holes in the bad arguments and policies advanced by the other party, and he also has the capacity for inspiring people with clarity of his own vision.”
Click the image & read the rest:
Click the image & read the rest

Noonan may not yet embrace (and, may not yet even comprehend) the enormity of what must be done if we are to save our Republic. But, her wisdom in suggesting a practical first baby step (in the form of a President Chris Christie) cannot be denied.

The majority of the country (regrettably) does not yet understand just how poisonous the big three entitlements are. And, anybody who touches that third rail in the next two election cycles will be absolutely slaughtered by Dim propaganda presenting the big three entitlements as not merely wonderful and necessary, but downright sacrosanct.

Sharron Angle gingerly touched that third rail. And, subsequently, the utterly dishonest Dim propaganda machine has actually brought the most hated man in Congress (Harry Reid) back into contention for keeping (and further abusing) his power.

There is broad support for repealing ObamaCare. THAT should be the focus for now.

With Harry Reid now polling ahead of the Tea Party endorsed Sharron Angle, the Tea Party might want to -- for now -- seriously consider the wisdom of Noonan’s more pragmatic baby step approach.

Never sacrifice the good in the name of the perfect.

Which President bears blame for bad economy?

Quoting Rasmussen Reports:
“For the first time since President Obama took office, voters see his policies as equally to blame with those of President George W. Bush for the country’s current economic problems.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 48% of Likely U.S. Voters now think Obama’s policies are to blame for the continuing bad economy, up three points from last month. Forty-seven percent (47%) say the recession that began under Bush is at fault.”
Click the image & read the rest:

Clinton bears more blame than any President for initiating our current economic mess.

But, Obama has clearly exacerbated and extended that mess (just as FDR did).

Bush was the only President who actually tried to PREVENT this mess.

But, thanks to the so-called “profession” of so-called “journalism”, that is a VERY well kept secret.
