The royal wedding really was inspirational. For a moment, I indulged the fantasy that all of human civilization is not actually headed for an inevitable fiscal collapse driven by entitlement fantasies. It was nice to see the polite side of British society (both the royals and their admirers). But, how much longer before we see violent and destructive entitlement punks once again tearing London apart? Not long. I’m sure of that.

On the surface, it appears as though William and Kate are decent and honorable people who are truly devoted to one another. There is -- at least for now -- every reason to believe that surface impression runs deep. That inspires hope for the future -- even if that hope is fleeting and soon to be shattered by economic reality.

It was nice to escape, even if just for one morning. Thank you, William. Thank you, Kate. All the best to both of you.

Lastly, thank you Harry (and T-Mobile) for spreading some good cheer.

Peter Gleick politicizes tornadic tragedies

It was predictable that notorious climate alarmist Peter Gleick would politicize the current tornadic tragedies.

Peter has three major problems:

1) NOAA’s Greg Carbin has flatly rejected any anthropogenic influence -- correctly noting that:

A) Warming (either man made or natural) has offsetting influences on tornadic activity.

B) There is no scientific evidence to link warming with increased tornadic activity or increased tornadic intensity.

Note: Observational evidence from NOAA documents a decades long decline in “strong to violent” tornadoes.

2) Even the infamous IPCC says:

“Observational evidence for changes in small-scale severe weather phenomena (such as [smaller, less damaging] tornadoes, hail and thunderstorms) is mostly local and too scattered to draw general conclusions; increases in many areas arise because of increased public awareness and improved efforts to collect reports of these phenomena.”

3) The most comparable tornadic outbreak occurred in 1974, just one year before the climate charlatans famously warned us that we would all freeze to death unless big government came to our rescue. Gee, that’s “inconvenient”!

But, hey! Why let a little thing like real science hinder Peter’s efforts to scare the public into kowtowing to his tyrannical political vision?

On the subject of gasoline prices, the ignorant idiots at CNN are pandering to their ignorant idiot allies in Washington D.C.

Only in the very last sentence does CNN mention that even Eric Holder admits:

“It is also [also???] clear that there are lawful reasons for increases in gas prices, given supply and demand”

As I documented in the previous post, ANWR alone could have prevented the global price spikes of 2008 (and 2011).

The Fed printing an unprecedented amount of money (thereby driving down the value of the dollar) plays a role in this. But, a far more minor role.

Price gouging is an absolute red herring. Dims always dishonestly blame this on price gouging and NEVER FIND even the slightest bit of evidence to substantiate their LIES! But, the stupid, ignorant morons who vote for them lap this crap up.

Kate Walsh - Entertainers should shut up & entertain

Most entertainers (for their own sake) should shut up and entertain. Kate Walsh (displaying both ignorance & arrogance on the subject of oil) is a classic example.

About the only thing she got right is that oil is a global market and USA oil independence is -- therefore -- a fantasy. We could achieve oil independence, but only after developing our vast resources AND only after (tyrannically) forcing domestic energy producers to only sell their energy domestically.

Beyond that, she regurgitated the same tired old Leftist lies, distortions and absurdities:

1) The lie that the USA has only 2% of global oil.

2) The absurdity that we should not drill now because it will not reduce gasoline prices tomorrow. Jay Leno addressed that stupidity as well as anybody.

3) The lie that domestic drilling will never have a significant impact on gasoline prices. Yes, I know the EIA published a report concluding that ANWR would do little to reduce the price of gasoline. That report was published by people who clearly have no understanding of economics, not even the most basic principles of supply and demand.

The fact is that:

1) ANWR alone could have prevented the global price spikes of 2008 (and 2011).

2) The USA easily has 6 to 7 times the proven reserves of Saudi Arabia.

Hey! Kate! You’re not as smart and not as well informed as you think you are! You are ONLY well indoctrinated (and -- demonstrably -- quite the fool).

Unless and until you become better educated and less likely to make an absolute fool of yourself, SHUT UP AND ENTERTAIN!

$11 Billion Gift to the UAW

When MSNBC terminated Keith Olbermann, many hoped he would fade into a well-earned obscurity. But, it seems Al Gore thought Olbermann would be a perfect match for Gore’s snake oil empire -- hard to argue with that conclusion.

Lacking any substance with which to attract any attention, Olbermann quickly resumed his same old shtick. And, the Lame Stream Media -- as is their nature -- happily rewarded his slithering slime with the attention he so desperately craves.

Yep, Olbermann defended federal funding of Planned Parenthood by publicly suggesting that the parents of commentator S.E. Cupp should have used the services of Planned Parenthood to prevent the birth of S.E. Cupp. That is, of course, a typical example of Olbermann’s “debating” “skills”. Surely, nobody was surprised -- least of all Keith’s new employer. Gore had to have known this was the sewer he was climbing into. Then again, Gore is no stranger to swimming in sewers.

After a prolonged silence, S.E. finally addressed the latest sewer sludge to ooze from that atrocious hole in Olbermann’s face:

To the point of taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood (as debated in the video clip found here)…

1) Leftists always deliberately conflate constitutionally authorized spending (such as National Defense) with utterly unconstitutional (and entirely tyrannical) funding of their social and political agendas -- via Planned Parenthood, NPR, PBS, and so much more. It is profoundly (and typically) dishonest to conflate one with the other -- ditto funding of fire departments and all other legitimate, non-partisan government activities.

Those on the Left (and/or others) may disagree with funding this or that war. Personally, I HATE funding this moronic intervention in Libya. We can even debate whether Obama had constitutional authority to enter into that folly without Congressional approval. But, nobody can even begin to argue that such activities (when authorized by Congress) are not authorized by the United States Constitution. In contrast, there is NOTHING in the Constitution which even comes remotely close to authorizing funding for Planned Parenthood, NPR, PBS or a whole slew of other Leftist outlets.

2) NO level of government should EVER fund ANYTHING which even remotely smells like “charity”. That is NOT a proper role for ANY level of government. Charity should ONLY be funded and delivered by the private sector. NOBODY (other than the Mafia) is well served by government “charity”. In point of fact, ALL are HARMED by such “charity” -- most of all the purported “beneficiaries”.

S&P lowers outlook on US debt rating

This S&P announcement has already impacted financial markets. If, as they now project, S&P lowers the credit rating for our national debt, we will -- at best -- pay a higher interest rate on that debt (driving us even more quickly into bankruptcy). At worst, nobody will buy that debt and we’ll be cut off like a junkie without a dealer (and suffer even worse withdrawals).

I have very fond memories of the days before the phenomenal waste, fraud, corruption and abuse that came with Medicare and Medicaid -- both signed into law in 1965. There is absolutely, positively, no question that the American people were FAR better off without this massive government intervention.

Today, scamming Medicare is so easy and so safe that the Italian Mafia have virtually abandoned all their other criminal activities to focus solely on Medicare fraud.

Libya - The WORST possible place to intervene?

Just when I think Obama could not possibly make any mistakes any bigger than those he has already made, the damn fool proves me wrong yet again.

Of all the possible places to intervene with United States military force, could Obama have POSSIBLY chosen ANY location any WORSE than Libya?

From the reporting I have seen thus far, my conclusion is that this is not a revolution. It’s not even a civil war. What we have in Libya is just straight-up anarchy. It’s like a really, really bad sequel to a Mad Max movie (only much more chaotic and FAR less purposeful).

Unlike Bush, Obama has gotten us involved in a situation where we have NO national security interest. Hell, if anything, assisting the al Qaeda infested “Libyan” “rebels” will almost certainly CREATE a national security problem for us!

Unlike both Iraq AND Afghanistan, Obama did not even CONSULT with Congress (much less secure their approval) before launching us into the mess. Vice President Biden is on record strongly asserting that failure to do so is an impeachable offense. Even Obama has asserted that he had NO Constitutional authority to do this.

Who the HELL elected this buffoon? Sorry, that was a rhetorical question.
