Saying the police “acted stupidly” is not a miscalibration of words. It is a direct offense. Obama has not yet offered an apology; he has only made matters worse by blaming others for misunderstanding his intent. Sorry, the President’s intent was very, very clear. And the apology is WAY overdue.

SPT Loaded Question on Health Care
“Are you dissatisfied with the state of health care in America today?”
Wage and price controls from FDR first created this problem. That FDR “solution” (to an inflation problem) literally made it illegal for employers to offer competitive wages. So, as always, employers found a loophole. The loophole was “benefits” (like employer provided health insurance). From that moment on, the consumer of health care was divorced from the payer of health care. And, at that very moment, we lost all hope of EVER containing health care costs.
Those FDR created spiraling costs are my beef with the current system. Okay, predatory scumbag trial lawyers who have the Dims in their bulging pockets (and vice versa) also contribute to the current mess -- as have additional government regulations which serve only to limit competition in the insurance business.
But, despite all this government “assistance”, we have -- demonstrably, objectively and quantitatively -- the BEST health care system in the entire world (partly because the governments of other nations -- such as Canada -- have made an even BIGGER mess of their health care systems).
I have ZERO expectation that MORE government intervention of ANY sort will make things any better. More government intervention will -- as ALWAYS -- only make matters WORSE!

We have, in our Constitution, the best government ever conceived by mankind. But, our politicians have strayed dangerously far from that document. We must dramatically reduce the scope and scale of our government (at every level).
The best way I can see to do that is to starve the bastards. I encourage everybody to find every legal way possible to avoid paying taxes at every level. When -- inevitably -- the bastards threaten to cut basic services rather than redundant, useless bureaucracies and countless “services” which government has no business providing -- CALL THEIR BLUFF! Endure whatever you must in order to restore the government our forefathers gave us.
Higher taxes harm EVERYBODY and harm the poor more than anyone.

Remember, in 1971, climate alarmist-in-chief James Hansen, warned the world “of an impending ice age within 50 years”. Of course, peer reviewed science suggests Hansen -- relying solely upon his computer model -- was off by about 49,950 years. Today, both Hansen and the IPCC are still trying to scare the world with their equally flawed computer models. Even more shocking and disgusting than the ruling from Sotomayor against Ricci is the astonishing manner in which she dismissed his case without -- apparently -- giving it even the SLIGHTEST consideration. It appears to me that the ONLY factor Sotomayor considered was that this was a white male and he was, therefore, undeserving of what he had CLEARLY EARNED!

‘We all know that the UN is incompetent when it comes to spending money, and that is why American taxpayers should not be forking over millions more to one of its organizations that not only is in need of significant reform but is engaged in dubious scientific quests,’ Luetkemeyer said. ‘Folks in Missouri and across the country are tired of this never ending government spending spree, and my goal is to deliver some of our people’s hard-earned money back into their pocketbooks instead of spending it on international junk science.’
Luetkemeyer’s legislation would prohibit U.S. contributions to the IPCC, which is nothing more than a group of U.N. bureaucrats that supports man-made claims on global warming that many scientists disagree with.”

Dishonesty, Arrogance and Global Temperatures
“President Obama and other leaders backed historic new targets for tackling global warming last night in an agreement designed to pave the way for a world deal in the autumn.
For the first time, America and the other seven richest economies agreed to the goal of keeping the world’s average temperature from rising more than 2C (3.6F).”
What amazing IGNORANCE/ARROGANCE!
Peer reviewed science indicates that if the entire world does NOTHING over the next 100 years to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the total man made warming effect will be about 0.4C.
The same science indicates that 100 years from now -- if the entire world does NOTHING, the total sum of ALL man made warming -- historical AND future -- will be 1.1C. Click here for the post which directly cites that science.
So, in one sense, these scumbag politicians have set a particularly easy goal for themselves. But, what about natural forces?
Well, IF temperatures were to rise more than 2C, that would exceed the considerably warmer temperatures reached about 8,000 years ago. So, to a degree, the scumbags have hedged their bets pretty well as relates to natural forces.
But, considering that the previous interglacial warming cycle (The Eemian) produced temperatures about 3C higher than current mean temperatures, Mother Nature could yet throw the arrogant scumbags a curve ball.

In the “minds” of the environmental extremists, humans are pure evil and are responsible for any and all changes in a world which is constantly changing and evolving on its own.
The great irony, of course, is that those who voted for “change” are the same religious cult members who harbor a pathological fear of anything which actually represents change -- even beneficial change (such as a very slight warming of the climate over the course of 100 years, even when there is nothing even remotely unusual about the temperatures reached in the process).
I would bet that this is far from the first time this parasite has culled the honeybee herd. Over time, there have probably been regular boom and bust cycles between honey bees and these parasites. Today, human agriculture -- to one degree or another -- may or may not depend upon maintaining a boom cycle among the honeybees. If honeybees continue to decline, will some other pollinator opportunistically fill the gap? I would guess so.

The EPA Silences a Climate Skeptic

Mr. Carlin is instead an explanation for why the science debate is little reported in this country. The professional penalty for offering a contrary view to elites like Al Gore is a smear campaign. The global-warming crowd likes to deride skeptics as the equivalent of the Catholic Church refusing to accept the Copernican theory. The irony is that, today, it is those who dare critique the new religion of human-induced climate change who face the Inquisition.”

How ironic that Carol Browner’s underlings at EPA would falsely accuse Mr. Carlin of being unqualified to evaluate the science. Ms. Browner, an English major turned lawyer, is the one who is entirely unqualified for her position -- unless, of course, her job is to use her legal “skills” to implement tyrannical Socialist policy which flies in the face of peer reviewed science. And, sadly, that is EXACTLY what her job is.
